Levi’s Shut Down Japan Offices/Operations

Word is starting to trickle in concerning a big layoff over in Levi’s Japan offices recently. Sources tell us that hundreds of  employees, including the entire LVC team, were let go as part of  Levi’s new “global strategy.” Remaining employees have been transferred to their Hong Kong office – Levi’s remaining Asian office. With most of the LVC line now being produced in the United States, and design coming from London, Amsterdam, and HK, we’re interested to see how this plays out for the Japanese market which in many regards has been leading the charge for the company. This will most likely not affect sales of Levi’s in Japan.
